Hans-Michael Korth was elected to the Board at the 2008 General Assembly. He represents the German organisation Deutscher Steuerberaterverband, DStV.

He is managing director of Gensch, Korth & Coll. GmbH, a tax adviser company and managing director of ReWiRat GmbH, an audit company, in Hannover.

H.-Michael Korth holds several honorary posts. He is President of the Tax Adviser Association of Lower Saxony / Saxony-Anhalt (since 1990), President of the Association of Liberal Professions in Lower Saxony (since 1995), Vice President of Deutscher Steuerberaterverband (since 1999).

He is also member of the Steering Committee of the German Federal Association of Liberal Professions (since 2004), member of the Economic Advisory Board in the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (since 1999), member in the Tax Code Committee of the German Market Economy Foundation (since 2004) and member of the Financial Reporting Working Group of DStV and the German Federal Chamber of Tax Advisers.

H.-Michael Korth also published Legal Commentary on the German Stock Companies Act, several books on commercial and law and on "Basel II and its consequences". He regularly writes articles for professional journals. He is the editor of a compendium for the auditor exam.

He is tax adviser (Steuerberater) since 1977 and an auditor (Wirtschaftsprüfer) since 1979.
